The Social Worker in Schools programme was set up to enhance life outcomes for children whose social and family/whanau circumstances place at risk their chances of achieving positive education, social and health outcomes.

It works with children and families/whanau in a voluntary relationship.

We are looking for a Qualified Social worker to:

• Work in partnership with the schools and their families
• Be strengths based, solution focused, child -centred and culturally responsive
• Be committed to working within the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi

What will you need to be successful:

• A passion for working with vulnerable children and families
• Able to be responsive, creative, flexible in your social work practice
• A Level B qualification in Social Work and post qualifying experience
• Membership of a professional social work body and registration ( or eligible for this)
• Ability to work independently in schools and be part of the SWIS team
• Knowledge and experience of case work and group work with children and adults and community development an advantage
