Stand Tū Māia is looking for a social work team leader committed to restoring and preserving child and family safety and wellness.
We have an exciting opportunity for a senior practitioner to join our incredibly dedicated team in our Children's Village in Gisborne.
Known internally as 'Village Team Leader' your primary responsibilities will be to help lead the delivery of therapeutic care and education services to children aged 5 to 12 who have experienced significant trauma in their lives and who need support to recover and reach their potential.
The role also includes providing social work supervision to support other social workers and care workers to contribute to the development of service excellence.
Reporting to the Kahukura Ora Service Leader, the role is to provide leadership, practice and procedural oversight on rostered shifts, Mon-Fri (rostered weekend work is not required).

Person Specification/ Key competencies
- Proven supervision and leadership experience and a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and working bi-culturally.
- Successful social work experience working effectively within goal oriented, solution focused, multidisciplinary and strength-based models of practice.
- You will need to have a passion for child and family wellness, be able to bring a trauma lens to the work and enjoy growing good practice and teamwork.
- You will have registration or be registerable with the Social Work Registration Board
- Full driver's licence

While this is a Social Work role, consideration can be given to applicants who are qualified and registered professionals in other disciplines, such as Psychology, Occupational Therapy or with post graduate or master qualifications in professional supervision.
